The League of Women Voters of San Diego depends on volunteers like you — for voter registration drives, candidate forums, research, and more. Whether you have two hours or twenty a month, there is a role for you.

Election volunteer opportunities — Mar – Nov 2026

Tabling & voter registration Urgent

When: Mar – Nov 2026  |  Time: 2–3 hrs/shift

Set up tables at community events to register voters and share League services. In-person training is provided.

Speakers Bureau Urgent

When: Any time  |  Time: 4–6 hrs

Give talks on ballot measures or general civic issues to community groups. New speakers are paired with an experienced volunteer to show you the ropes.

Serve as moderator, question screener, timekeeper, or page at forums. New volunteers are welcome and supported. Coordinated by Kathleen Grove and Vicky King

Gather and enter candidate info into the nonpartisan online voter guide. Join the Telephone Team, Research Team, or train to become a Local Coordinator.

Committee volunteer opportunities — ongoing

Campaign finance dashboard

When: ASAP  |  Time: 10–20 hrs/mo

Help shine a light on money in local politics. This project analyzes official campaign finance filings for all local candidate races and ballot measures — so voters can see who is funding campaigns, which independent expenditure committees are involved, and how much candidates are raising and spending.

Monitor polls via Common Cause; handle training and any legal issues.
